Save the Motorcycles!

Please click here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JKjGo5BWIOQto watch a short video from the AMA regarding the recent ban on kids motorcycles. This ban is from a Consumer Product Safety Act about lead exposure for kids. I am pretty sure most kids dont lick or eat their motorcycles or ATV's. This is seriously impacting the lives of people who work at dealerships, manufacturing plants, and the folks at the AMA. 60% off the AMA's events are from children's racing and riding. This isnt about safety for broken bones. It's for LEAD. Just let the kids ride! Let them have fun! Hunter LOVES riding his motorcycle! It is sad that parts and larger bikees will be unavailable to him in the future when he outgrows his current one. Tom Self, a motox dad and Congressman from Missouri, has an awesome petition on his website. All you do is fill in your info, click submit, and he does the rest. www.tomself.com Call your state representatives or send them an email.

Sunday is a frustrating day......

This is a typical Sunday at our house:

We wake up and beging getting ready for church. Anna goes into full blown melt down and refuses to get dressed. After finally getting her dressed and in the car ( a great wrestling match ensues), we arrive to church late. We await in the foyer until Sacrament is over and I spent wasted breaths trying to get the kids to be quiet and stop running. Then alas the pews are filled and the only seats available are in the gym. To my kids, the gym equals playtime...so back to the foyer for us. So I sit in the foyer silently crying to myself because nothing else works. My mom sacrifices her time and takes Hunter. Finally time for Primary and Nursery! Hunter marches on to class and I worry about him behaving badly. People say little things like "oh the day you decide to come" of course they mean nothing by it and are just joking, but me already stressed to the max want to say... IF YOU ONLY KNEW WHAT IT TAKES TO GET HERE! Anna decides she cant part with Mommy after all the morning drama, so I sit in nursery and hold her the entire time. Wait, what was church about? Who spoke? Did we have a sunday school lesson or Relief Society? I promise myself this only is a phase and eventually will pass and I'll get to enjoy church again. I do appreciate the hugs and I miss you's and those who understood why I was so annoyed. It does mean a lot. I guess we'll try again next week. Maybe I'll see you, maybe I wont!

St Patricks Day!

We all wore green on St Patty's Day yesterday! Here is a conversation while we were getting dressed!

Hunter: Why are we wearing green again?
Me: Because it's St Patrick's Day
Hunter: When is Sponge Bob Day?
Me: Hunter it's not that Patrick it's a different one.
Hunter: But Sponge Bob's best friend is Patrick
Me: I know Hunter, but he is pink. Why would we wear green if it was that Patrick's day?
Hunter: Mo-om, I don't know the rules! (insert eye rolling)
Me: Okay HUnter
Hunter: I wish there really was a Sponge Bob day. We could wear yellow.

Supercross February 2009

Kevin and I decided to take Hunter to the Supercross races in Atlanta last month. We had the best time! I was surprised at what a show it was. They had colored fire and fireworks and music and motorcycle tricks and all kinds of stuff! Hunter wanted to meet his favorite red bull honda red rider, Andrew Short. He planned to tell him he rode a honda too and he was fast! Hunter fell asleep while waiting for the autographs to begin. Poor fellow! He really enjoyed the laser show and the green fire! I enjoyed seeing Chad Reed up close! Yummy Aussie! (disclaimer: my husnabd knows and understand that he is yummy in my opinion and is ok with that as he often thinks the monster energy girls are equally yummy)!!! So supercross (much to my mother's dismay) has become somthing I enjoy watching. It truly takes a lot of strength, endurance, and just plain out guts to race. The past two races were even more exciting because Chad Reed finally got James Stewart. It is also cool to me to see local boys do so well on a big stage! Check out the speed channel sometime to see the gnarly tracks and the guys bubba whip the bikes! HA HA HA
